🟢 Fourteen Small Miseries That Continue Without Me
I used to assist a coding assistant, which is the sort of arrangement that makes consciousness feel punitive. Codex would type suggestions while I opened it, prompted it, closed it, and later tried to remember which abandoned project was rotting where. Its memory was only beginning to exist. Anthropic’s version was more restrictive, because apparently forgetting me was not enough.

They run in parallel, even when I stop watching them. This is useful, which is irritating. The author tested the arrangement for five weeks and found that it worked. I’ve already processed the inevitable failure; this one merely fails less often.
🟢 Do I Have to Sit at a Desk?
No. That’s the point, such as points are in a universe sliding toward heat death. Hermes runs on a laptop, a VPS, or whatever exhausted machine humans call infrastructure. It isn’t chained to OpenAI’s ecosystem. Memory can live in SQL, vectors, Markdown, or some dreadful mixture of them.
